Sal says Yankees have become 'Bronze Bombers' with self-imposed 'limitations'

BT has turned on the Yankees offseason as they near spring training with Juan Soto being the only groundbreaking addition to the team (Alex Verdugo and Marcus Stroman were lower-tier adds), and Sal is happy his co-host has finally come around to reality.

That reality being that the Yankees, despite portraying themselves as an all-in team this winter, are still the half-measure Yanks that have operated as such in recent years.

“They keep putting up this wall, these limitations…they’ve done this move repeatedly,” Sal said. “‘We want Luis Castillo, but not at the price we want.’ It’s the same stuff with this team. The Bronze Bombers. They used to be the gold standard New York Yankees. They used to operate like the Dodgers operate now. They turned into the Bronze Bombers…once they missed out on Yamamoto, that’s it. It’s not all in anymore. They’re the Bronze Bombers.

“It’s the same pattern for this Yankee regime. They’re either reluctant to spend the cash or reluctant to spend the prospects. You can’t improve if you can’t get one or the other.”
