C-Mac: Yankee fans shouldn't be fuming about former players winning title with Rangers

The Rangers are world champs, meaning former Yankees Jordan Montgomery, Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Heaney, and Nathan Eovaldi are all on top of the baseball world.

It led to a lot of lamenting from Yankees Universe on Wednesday night, but C-Mac doesn’t understand why.

Outside of Jordan Montgomery, C-Mac can’t understand why any Yankee fan would disagree that moving on from the others was absolutely the right move.

“It just drives me nuts,” C-Mac said. “Montgomery, I get, they traded him away…I understand Bader is no longer with the team, but he was a monster that postseason. That means something to me.

“That particular team, they thought they had four better options from Montgomery…they felt they needed another outfielder more than they needed a fifth starter, and that’s how they viewed him on that team, and that’s how I viewed him.”

As for the rest, it was obvious that it was not working out in New York, and sometimes, players just find their way elsewhere.

“How could you be annoyed Andrew Heaney is not a Yankee? He was terrible!” C-Mac said. “Nathan Eovaldi had a 4.30 ERA with the Yankees over the course of two seasons, got hurt at the end of his tenure, and needed a second Tommy John surgery. I don’t understand why you would hold that against the Yankees.

“I’m sorry, you want to get mad at the Yankees for not turning the clock back on Chapman like the Rangers did, although he was teetering every time out there and needed miraculous double plays…but this is a guy who quit on the Yankees…I was so glad he was a million miles away from this team.”
