FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WWJ) -- Two people are dead after a crash in Farmington Hills following a police chase Saturday afternoon.
Southfield police tell WWJ they attempted to stop a black Chevy Impala along 8 Mile Road just before 4 p.m., but the driver kept driving and attempted to flee from officers. Southfield officers pursued him but cut the chase off at Beech Road.
Police say the suspect's vehicle continued to Inkster Road in Farmington Hills, where it collided with a Ford Taurus. The drivers of both cars were killed.
Names of the victims have not been released and an investigation is ongoing. It was not clear why the driver of the Impala failed to stop when police attempted to pull him over.
Farmington Hills police are assisting Southfield in the investigation.
