FLINT, Mich. (WWJ) -- Four teenagers who have plead guilty to throwing rocks of an I-75 overpass in Genessee County and killing a passenger on the freeway back in 2017 will be sentenced as adults.
The four Flint-area teens -- Mark Sekelsky, 18, Mikadyn Payne, 17, and 16-year-olds Trevor Gray and Alexzander Miller -- had asked to be sentenced as juveniles, but on Tuesday Judge Joseph J. Farah denied the request, determining they will be sentenced as adults and serve time in an adult correctional facility.
Judge Farah said Tuesday that separating the friends by means of how was responsible for throwing the rock versus who wasn't was not fair because they were all willingly participating in the "game," known as "overpassing."
