(WWJ) A worker with the Monroe County Sheriff's Animal Control Division is in critical condition after a crash early this morning.
Michigan State Police say the sheriff's vehicle was hit at the corner of Custer and Raisinville roads by a driver who was fleeing another hit and run crash.
The other driver was headed westbound on M-50 approaching the red light at Raisinville Road, disregarded the signal and drove into the intersection. She broad-sided the sheriff's vehicle on the driver'side.
The driver of the sheriff's vehicle was taken to a Toledo hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The suspect is a 44-year old woman from Hudson, who is also hospitalized. Troopers say alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
