(WWJ) Detroit's auto prom is getting a little more accessible to the general public when the North American International Auto Show celebrates its move from blustery winter to the summer on June 12, 2020.

For the first summertime auto show in Detroit, organizers revealed the charity preview that kicks off the event every year will have its traditional parameters.

But there's also something different brewing: The charity preview will include a lower-priced outdoor event geared to millennials.

That's a change, but one part of the new charity preview, in particular, is getting a lot of attention. The suggested dress codes for both events.

NAIAS announced this year's dress codes for the two versions of the charity preview would be summer chic for the outdoor venue, and 'creative black tie' for the fancier, more traditional charity preview.

What exactly is 'creative black tie? and 'summer chic'?

“Expect to see splashes of color and fun accents added to black-tie attire,” 2020 NAIAS Chairman Doug North said in a press release. “Outdoors, look for semi-formal with a summertime flair.”

Who came up with these dress code suggestions? Obviously, it wasn't a woman, one *woman* remarked on twitter.

Damon Martin wrote on Facebook, "Welp, let me go ahead and contact my stylist to understand wtf "Summer-chic" means in fashion terms. -- *insert sarcasm wherever you see fit.*"

Evie Burke thought the dress code was a good idea, writing, "Very reasonable for a charity event- "

Jeff Sorgeloos kept it simple in his Facebook response, "Just don’t dress like people who shop and Walmart and you will be ok."

The goal behind the addition of a less formal outdoor charity preview component is simple: "We're hoping that we can get more people involved and grow it and in the end grow those dollars that we raise for charity, " North said.

The goal has always been to grow and improve and allow more people to get involved, North added.

Here's how the ticketing breaks down for the 2020 charity preview:

All Access Tickets are $400 each/$750 for a pair

These tickets will offer guests access to the entire NAIAS indoor and outdoor shows, including the VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony, admittance to the show floor and more.
