(WWJ) A collision between and Land Rover and two bicyclists turned into a bizarre shooting yesterday in Detroit that left a man dead.

The incident unfolded when a 24-year-old man was driving a 2006 Land Rover just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of E. Jefferson, basically in front of the Renaissance Center. Details are unclear other than he was involved in a collision with two bicyclists.

The victim exited the vehicle and approached the two bicyclists -- while he was armed.

One of the bicyclists, a 28-year-old woman with a license to carry a gun, apparently saw his weapon and fired her own shot, striking the victim, fatally wounding him. She fired only one shot, police said.

Police are releasing no further information at this time on whether the cyclist will face charges or what exactly happened during the crash or confrontation.
