WWJ -- Summertime is all about sleeping in and playing. But for students who learn differently, the lack of routine can cause anxiety -- for both parents and kids.

Eton Academy in Birmingham is aiming to help with that anxiety. The school, which specializes in helping students who learn differently, is holding a number of camps focusing on a multitude of skills over the summer, beginning in late June. Eton's Summer Programs Director Jamie Conway says their camps offer something for every student.

"We try to teach the whole child. We have a lot of students with ADHD, time management issues, they might struggle with organizational skills, executive functioning skills. Everyone looks a little bit different," Conway said.

Among the different camps Eton is offering are an all-sports camp, music making, problem solving and more. Different grade levels -- 1st-6th grade, 7th-8th grade and high schoolers -- have different programs to choose from.

Conway says the goal for every kid enrolled this summer is to make friends, explore, build academic skills, feel accepted, and most of all, to have fun.

No matter your child's challenge, Conway says, they will work on it without even realizing during their camp adventures.

"It might be problem solving, it might be social skills, it might be time management. They all are a little bit different and we weave them all into fun, engaging activities," Conway said. "We are practicing these skills out in the real world – we go on field trips every week. Depending on what the theme of the camp is, the field trip kind of matches that."

Information on the different camps offered, camp registration and more on the school in general, can be found on the Eton Academy website.
