(WWJ) Cedar Point is announcing plans for its 150th anniversary that include a new ride and 150 free tickets for life.
The 150th season will feature new food, events, and an interactive water ride called the Snake River Expedition.
Snake River Expedition is a nod to the park's former western cruise and paddlewheel excursions boat ridesthat will let visitors hop on riverboats to explore and travel along the winding Snake River that surrounds Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island. Interactive, it's led by a member of Trapper Dan's crew who will ask visitors to help complete a secret mission that inivolves smuggling valuable bounty to safer waters. "Live actors, special effects and exciting twists and turns will meet you around every bend," Cedar Pointe said in a press release.
This year will also bring live bands, parades and new food including Mac Shack and a French Quarter Confections selling ten sweet customizable toppings for the park's famous funnel cakes, elephant ears and a new sweet addition, waffle-on-a-stick. get full details on the 150th anniversary celebration HERE.
As for the free lifetime tickets, general manager Jason McClure added that each winner will have the ability to add three family or friends to the lifetime tickets -- so they'll get four free tickets for life! That contest launches in February, so stay tuned for details.
