ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police say a 5-year-old boy who was found wandering in Royal Oak Township Saturday morning has been reunited with his mother.
Michigan State Police troopers found the child around 7:45 a.m. running down Wyoming Street near Pasadena, just north of 8 Mile Road. The troopers took the child back to the station where he was checked over by EMS and appeared to be in good health.
The boy was able to give his name but did not know his street address or phone number. Troopers drove the child around the neighborhood, but he was unable to identify his home. Police checked with departments in nearby Oak Park and Ferndale for any missing persons, but neither had received any reports.
Around 8:45 a.m., police were contacted by the child's mother. The pair has since been reunited.
Police say Child Protective Services is interviewing mom and conducting a home check.
