(WWJ) A gas station clerk shot the wrong person after a failed robbery attempt on Detroit's west side Tuesday night.
The suspected thief was allegedly trying to get away with several bags of potato chips when a worker at the Shell gas station at West Warren near the Southfield Freeway pulled out a gun.
He fired through the glass door, but hit a different person in the chest, police said. The victim, a 22-year-old man, is in serious condition.
The clerk and the suspected thief were both arrested.
