DETROIT (WWJ) - A 30-year-old Detroit man is behind bars, accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian over the weekend.

JC Deandrey Hogan was allegedly "driving under the influence of alcohol," with his young son in his car, when he struck 62-year-old Gregory Anderson who was on foot at Van Dyke and E. 7 Mile Rd. in Detroit last Saturday night.

According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Hogan and his son were found nearby, still in the vehicle, which had been driven off the roadway into a tree.

The 9-year-old child had a minor head injury, officials said, and was treated by EMS at the scene.

Anderson, a Detroit resident, was found by police in the street. He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

Hogan is charged with the following: Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Driving While License Suspended Causing Death and Operating While Intoxicated with Occupant Under 16 Years of Age.

Bond was set at $100,000/10 percent at an arraignment Tuesday morning in 36th District Court.

Prosecutors said further facts and evidence in the case will be presented at the Preliminary Examination, set for April 8. Hogan's next court appearance, a Probable Cause Conference, is scheduled for April 1.
