ROMULUS (WWJ) - A Detroit man is behind bars, accused of sexually assaulting a 67-year-old woman in her Romulus home.
According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, 39-year-old Christopher Darnell Moore tricked the victim into letting her into her apartment in the 11000 block of Wayne Rd., near Goddard Rd., late last month.
At 12:30 p.m. on June 30, it's alleged that Moore came to the woman's door and represented that he was working for a company that assisted senior citizens. Once he was inside the apartment, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
Moore was arrested following an investigation by Romulus police and charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
He was scheduled to be arraigned in 34th District Court Wednesday afternoon.
