DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the breaking and entering of a local business on Detroit's west side.

Authorities tell WWJ around 7 a.m. Sunday an unknown suspect driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck pulled up to the location in the 20100 block of W. 8 Mile Road. Two additional suspects got out of a white SUV and approached the building on foot, with one serving as a "look-out" person and the other scoped the building out.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck backed into the building, damaging the window and making an entrance to the building.

As the driver was preparing to slam into the building a second time, an employee who was inside of the location fired shots in the direction of the suspects, resulting in the driver of the Ram speeding away and the suspects fleeing.

Police say they are unsure if any shots took effect.

Police do not have detailed subscriptions of the suspects, but say all three men were wearing all black clothing, ski masks and gloves.

Anyone who has any information pertaining to this crime, is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department’s Eighth Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-5800. Calls can also be made anonymously to CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAK- UP.
