DETROIT (WWJ) - If you ever wanted to own a unique piece of Tigers memorabilia -- here's your chance.
The Detroit Tigers are offering fans a chance to buy some items used during past seasons at a special equipment and apparel sale on Friday, from noon to 7 at Comerica Park.
Items for sale include game-used bats and helmets, along with clubhouse-issued apparel including jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more. Autographed memorabilia from former Tigers, and commemorative plaques and photos honoring special moments in Tigers history will also available. Select retail items and Tigers merchandise will be discounted at up to 70 percent off.
Former pitchers Dan Petry and Dave Rozema will also make an appearance and sign autographs from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Beer Hall.
Fans may park for free in the Tiger Garage (off the I-75 service drive) and enter the sale through the Beer Hall (corner of Montcalm and Brush St).
A portion of the proceeds from all sales will benefit the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities.
