Farmington Hills Man Charged With Shooting 3 In Greektown

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Farmington Hills man is facing multiple felony charges for a triple shooting in Detroit's Greektown district.

Ward is charged with three counts each of the following crimes: Assault with Intent to Murder; Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm; Carrying a Concealed Weapon; and Felony Firearm.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, May 11, in 34th District Court in Romulus.

Craig said investigators believed the shooting was gang-related; possibly retribution for another shooting late last year. "We believe from a prior incident, they decided to bring their beef to the city of Detroit," the chief told reporters at a news conference Tuesday.

A 23-year old Livonia man was arrested earlier this week in connection with the incident, Craig said. The chief earlier said two additional suspects remained at large, although it's unclear at this time if police are still looking for anyone.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
