DEARBORN (WWJ) - Ford is recalling more that 1.3 million vehicles for three separate issues.
The first recall involves 1.2 million 2011-2017 Ford Explorers. A problem with the rear suspension could affect steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford says there has been one crash but no injuries related to the problem.
In addition, about 120,000 2013 Ford F-150 vehicles with 6-speed automatic transmission are being recalled for a transmission calibration issue. The automaker says a software reprogramming issue could cause a potential unintended downshift into first gear. Depending on vehicle speed, an abrupt downshift without warning could result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. No crashes or injuries have been linked to the issue.
The third recall involves 4,300 2009-2016 Ford Econoline vehicles which may lose power, especially when the driver attempts to accelerate from a stop. The recall involves vehicles with a school bus or ambulance prep package. No crashes or injuries have been reported.
In every case, dealers will replace and repair the problem. Drivers will be contacted by Ford.
