Man Charged After Allegedly Threatening To Shoot Up Blake's Cider Mill

ARMADA TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A 29-year-old man has been charged with a felony after he allegedly threatened to shoot up a popular cider mill in Macomb County.

Michigan State Police said troopers were called to Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill on Armada Center Road in Armada Township on Wednesday after an employee was apparently making threats. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect. since identified as Jonathan G. Keck, was asked to perform a work task and became visibly upset. After a coworker left the room, he heard Keck say to himself, "One day I am going to shoot this 'expletive' up," according to police. 

No one was hurt.

Troopers contacted Keck at his home in St. Clair Shores and while talking, he allegedly made other threats toward customers of his workplace. At that point he was taken into custody and lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

Following a Macomb County Prospector's Office review of the case, Keck was charged with one count of Making a Terrorist Threat, a 20-year felony.

Keck was arraigned at the Romeo District Court Thursday afternoon and ordered held on a $100,000 cash bond. As a condition of his bond, he must agree to have no contract with anyone at Blake’s if he is released.
