(WWJ) A 30-year-old man drowned in Commerce Lake Sunday night.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says Gurvit Sharma of Commerce Township jumped into the lake to get a ladder that had fallen into the water, and never resurfaced,

Friends say he didn't know how to swim.

The OCOS dive team pulled him from 20-feet of water after 90 minutes, and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The drowning remains under investigation, but investigators say there's some indication that alcohol may have been a factor.
