WATERFORD TWP., Mich. (WWJ) -- The search is on for a man who police say stole an elderly woman's purse outside a senior center Wednesday in Waterford.
The Waterford Township Police Department says the robbery happened around 10:10 a.m. at the Waterford Senior Center at 3621 Pontiac Lake Road. A man followed a 76-year-old woman into the parking lot outside the center and grabbed her purse out of her hand as she was exiting her vehicle.
The suspect then fled the area, taking of in an older model white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Police say the truck has a regular cab with rust along the bottom on both sides of the vehicle. The truck also has a bug guard on the front bumper and a black piece of plastic hanging on the bottom right side, just below the bumper.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-11, 170 lbs.
