STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Metro Parkway was shut down in Sterling Heights, Friday afternoon, following what police say was a "serious car versus motorcycle accident."
As a result of the crash, at around 4 p.m., all lanes of eastbound Metro Parkway (16 Mile Road) were closed at Dodge Park Rd., with vehicles unable to turn onto eastbound Metro Parkway from Dodge Park.
Sterling Heights police are not confirming any further information at this time, including details about the condtion of those involved. Other information, such as what led to the crash or who may have been at fault, also remains unclear.
The roadway remained shut down for several hours at the scene of the crash, causing backups in the area, but reopened to traffic just after 7:30 p.m.
