NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An autistic Northville Township man who had been missing since last night has been found safe.
Northville Township police used K-9 units and helicopters in their search for 21-year old Akash Patel, before he was found just before noon Wednesday in a nearby city
Residents within a three mile radius of where he'd last been seen Tuesday evening -- 6 Mile Road and Sheldon -- were asked to check their backyards, water sources (pools, ponds, lakes) any outdoor structures (sheds, garages, pool houses, etc.) on their property to see if Patel is located there. Officers responded to the neighborhood and were checking backyards through the night.
No further details were released about where Patel had been, but he's believed to be OK.
