(WWJ) New information came in Tuesday morning in the death of a 48-year-old Warren truck driver in a dramatic crash.
Michigan State Police say a passenger car with a tire defect rammed into the semi-truck, which then hit the left wall of I-94 westbound in Taylor.
The truck flipped and caught on fire, killing the man inside. I-94 westbound is now open after being closed at Telegraph for over seven hours as a result of the accident.
The driver of the semi has been identified only as a 48-year-old from Warren, though police say next of kin have been notified.
"Thank you for your patience," MSP said in a statement to local drivers.
