DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a 13-year-old boy who vanished after leaving home to go to a park.
Police say Valentino Cartwright was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after telling his mother that he was going to the park. He failed to return home and hasn't been heard from since.
Prior to leaving, Cartwright got into an argument with his mother, according to police. This is the first time he has ran away.
Cartwright is described as 5'7" and 120 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair with burgundy on the top. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a University of Michigan blue hooded sweatshirt, red winter coat with brown fur around the hood, and black Jordan shoes.
Anyone who has seen Cartwright or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 11th Precinct at 313-596-1140. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
