(WWJ) The reward has increased to $15,000 for tips in a hit-and-run crash that killed a young Northville man last month.

Dominic Duhn, 20, was skateboarding along Sheldon Road, south of 6 Mile Rd. just after 11:30 p.m on  Saturday, Sept. 3, when he was hit by a car.

The driver just kept going, heading southbound on Sheldon, leaving Duhn to die in the street.

While Northville police have been investigating since that tragic night, detectives have not been able to track down the driver.

At this point there is still no description of the suspect or the suspect vehicle, other than that the car is likley to have windshield damage.

Dominic's friend, Jack Tsalia, hopes the person responsible will come forward and do the right thing.

"Dominic wasn't, you know, fake with anything," Tsalia said, pleading for help alongside his friend's parents at a news conference Wednesday. "Everything he said to me, anyone, was 100% genuine. And, you know, he really cared, and I really hope, to that person that has done this, that you can care enough to please help the family and I, my friends and I. We'd all really appreciate and we need this closure."

"I hope that the person who did this can come clean, you know?" Tsalia said. "Be that change, be that good person that Dominic was."

Dominic's mother Gabriella Duhn said the family needs information so that everyone can find peace.

"In my heart I truly feel that you don't feel good about this," the grieving mom said, addressing the driver directly. "I know that this is weighing heavy on you, and the only way that you'll be able to find some peace is to come forward. And that's why, at the end of the day, as horrific as this is, I know we're gonna have to forgive you."

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587).  As always, tipsters are 100% anonymous, will not be asked their names, to speak to police or to testify in court. Cash rewards are paid upon an arrest in the case. Crime Stoppers does not wait for a conviction.
