TROY (WWJ) - Two men are facing charges after they passed out while waiting at a fast food drive-thru in Troy.
Officers responded to a McDonald's restaurant, early in the morning of February 15, after an employee called 911 to report that the drivers of two cars waiting at the drive-thru had apparently fallen asleep.
In dash cam video released by Troy police on Friday, officers can be heard repeatedly shouting "wake up!"; eventually rousing and speaking with both drowsy drivers.
The drivers, who police said did not know each other, were given breathalyzer tests at the scene. Driver number one, police said, had a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of .16, which is twice the legal limit in Michigan. Driver number two blew a .13, police said.
Both drivers were arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI). Their names were not immediately released.
Troy police said they arrested 336 drunk or drugged divers in 2019.
