EMMETT TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A crash in St. Clair County leaves two people dead and a teenager clinging to life.
The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Bryce and Breen roads in Emmett Township.
According to police, 50-year-old Dawn Meyer was traveling northbound on Breen when she ran through a stop sign at Bryce. John Barron, who was driving westbound on Bryce, then struck Meyer's car on the passenger side.
Barron, a 52-year-old Emmett resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meyer, a Lynn Township resident, and her 16-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital. Meyer died from her injuries, while her daughter was transferred to Children's Hospital in critical condition.
It's unclear if drugs, alcohol or distracted driving were contributing factors. The crash remains under investigation.
