(WWJ) Michigan State Police are looking for two people who have been passing fake traveler's checks at stores in southeast Michigan.
The man and woman are accused of paying with a phony $1,600 American Express check at a Walmart in Troy last week, police said.
The following day, the same couple was seen at a Walmart in Monroe County. This time, police said, they passed a bogus check for $800.
Investigators said the two are believed to be working together and possibly traveling in a newer model, maroon Dodge Ram van. In both of the stores, the suspects rode motorized shopping carts.
Anyone with information should call State Police at the Monroe Post at 734-242-3500 and referencing incident number 14-5427-19. You can also submit a tip using the new MSP app on your mobile device.
