DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a man that fatally shot a man standing in front of a home on Detroit's west side.

The 35-year-old man was standing outside in the 20700 block of Tireman in the Warrendale neighborhood when he was shot by an unknown suspect around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities say a suspect pulled up in a blue pick-up truck and shot him, before fleeing northbound on Tireman.

Detroit police searched for the suspect in the area of Tireman and Pierson, just west of Evergreen, for several hours, but did not find him. Authorities did, however, recover a bullet shell casing near the body. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was standing in his own driveway, according to a report from Fox 2.

The suspect is described only as a black male wearing all black clothing, according to police.

Police have not released any further details regarding the suspect or what may have led to the shooting.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
