(WWJ) A small child is dead and five other people are hospitalized after a double rollover crash on Detroit's west side on Monday.
According to Detroit police, a woman and four children were headed eastbound on Joy Rd. in a white GMC Yukon, at around 6:30 p.m., when the SUV collided with a black GMC Yukon traveling north on Artesian Road
Both vehicles flipped over, police said.
A 6-year-old boy was ejected from the white Yukon and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 33-year-old woman and the other three kids — age 2, 3, and 7 — were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The diver of the black Yukon was also injured and taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
