Bloomfield Township Cops Investigate Rash Of Car Break-Ins

BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - Bloomfield Township police are urging residents to lock up their cars after at least eight vehicles were ransacked overnight.

Police said they took several calls starting around 7:30 a.m. Monday about vehicle break-ins. The cars were parked overnight on Halla Lane, Hill Line Trail, Roland Drive and Tuckahoe Road. These are in neighborhoods off of LahserRd.  between Maple Rd.and Quarton.


In one case, police said a garage door opener was stolen from a vehicle that was left unlocked in a driveway.

There have been no arrests, and no suspects have been described. Police are reviewing home surveillance video as the investigation continues. 

"The Bloomfield Township Police would like to remind the public to lock their car doors and not to leave items of value in plain sight," police said, in a release.
