(WWJ) A Detroit funeral director has been arraigned on murder charges in shooting death of his cousin.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says 37-year old Major Clora, Jr;, got into an argument with the 58-year old victim Monday morning, at the Clora Funeral Home on E. 7 Mile Rd., near Mound Rd.

The dispute escalated, moving out into the parking lot where police say Clora pulled a gun and fired one shot, hitting his cousin in the body and fatally wounding him.

Clora, who was arrested at the scene, told police he acted in self-defense.

Clora appeared before Magistrate Joseph Boyer in 36th District Court Thursday morning to face charges of second degree murder and felony firearm.

Bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety, and a probable cause conference was scheduled for August 2 before Judge Kenneth King.

Authorities have not said what the men were arguing about.
