(WWJ) Four people were seriously injured, including two small children, in a three car crash yesterday evening on Detroit's west side. Now police are searching for a drive involved.
Detroit police say a white Corvette slammed into a Dodge Charger at the corner of Dexter and Davison. The Charger rolled over several times and collided with a Chevy Tahoe SUV on Davison at around 7:20 p.m. Sunday.
A 23-year-old woman and her 8-month-old and 1-year-old daughters were taken by EMS to a local hospital. A 54-year-old man driving the Tahoe was also injured.
The kids were last reported in critical condition, while the mother and the Tahoe driver were in stable condition, according to authorities. A 26-year-old man in the Charger with the family was not hurt.
Police said the driver of the Corvette and a passenger in that car left the scene on foot. They remained at large Monday morning.
Police did not immediately provide a description of the suspects. It's unclear if they were injured.
The investigation is ongoing, police said, and all of this information is preliminary.
Anyone who may know the hit-and-run driver with information about this incident is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Fatal Squad at 313-596-2280 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
