(WWJ) The FBI, as well as county and local enforcement, are on the scene of a deadly shooting involving a suspect and an FBI agent outside a restaurant in Madison Heights.
In a statement, Special Agent in Charge Steven M. D'Antuono said it happened near 12 Mile and John R. during the execution of an arrest warrant for a federal weapons offense around 7 p.m. Friday.
The suspect is dead. D’Antuono said “he is believed to be” Eric Mark-Matthew Allport.
An FBI agent was also “wounded and taken to the hospital,” according to the statement. No other information was released on the agent’s condition.
Police told WWJ it happened outside of a Texas Roadhouse.
The FBI said no other information will be released until the investigation, by the agency’s Inspection Division, is complete.
Madison Heights Police, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are on the scene. Police told WWJ John R. will remain close in both directions north of 12 Mile into Saturday.
