GROSSE ILE TWP. (WWJ) - A Grosse Ile Township coach and teacher has been cleared of charges related to alleged lewd behavior last summer.
Christopher Metzger, 37, was charged in September with Aggravated Indecent Exposure and Disorderly Person - Obscene Conduct after, while a youth sports practice was going on in Grosse Isle's Commerce Park a parent claimed he saw Metzger engaging in an inappropriate act in his car.
Metzger, a Trenton resident, had a jury trial before Judge Noah Hood this week.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, Judge Hood dismissed the indecent exposure charge on Thursday. On Friday, the jury found Metzger not guilty on the remaining count.
Metzger was placed on administrative following the alleged incident on Aug. 28 and was prohibited from having contact with students or anyone else in the school district.
It was not immediately clear if he will return to work following his acquittal.
