WIXOM (WWJ) - A 25-year-old Canton Township man is facing charges after he crashed while allegedly driving drunk on I-96.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday on I-96 near Wixom Road in Wimox.
Police say the man was arrested after revealing to troopers on the scene that he was intoxicated.
During a search of the man's car, troopers discovered a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Although the firearm was registered to the man, police say he did not possess or ever apply for a CPL.
Charges of operating while intoxicated and carrying a concealed weapon are under review by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
