DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a gunman who opened a victim's car door and shot the man in cold blood.
The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday in the 14800 block of Greenfield Road, between Fenkell and Grand River Avenue.
The 28-year-old victim told police he was sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot when the suspect opened his door and pointed a gun at him. As he attempted to block the gun, a shot was discharged and struck the victim.
The victim was able to escape and was transported to a local hospital. He was last reported in temporary serious condition.
No description of the suspect was provided.
