DETROIT (WWJ) - You won't have to completely 'dodge the Lodge' Freeway this weekend.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has canceled plans to completely shut down southbound M-10 at Wyoming Avenue, south of McNichols Road, on Friday. Instead, the freeway is expected to be reduced to just one lane -- as it has been for much of the month of August.
The Wyoming Avenue overpass was recently hit by a high-load vehicle, and crews have been repairing the beams.
Last weekend's full closure, which started on a Friday morning, snarled traffic for hours as motorists were forced to the service drive or onto other freeways altogether.
