DETROIT (WWJ) - A suspect who police say fatally shot another man during a dispute at a nightclub on Detroit's east side earlier this summer has been arrested.
Authorities say the 26-year-old suspect was located Friday afternoon in Ann Arbor and arrested by the Detroit Police Department's 9th Precinct Cease Fire Unit without incident. The Wayne County Prosecutor's office is now reviewing the case for charges.
The shooting took place around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 23 at the Cartier Lounge on Morang Avenue, not far from I-94. According to police, the suspect got into an argument with several people in the lounge's parking lot.
The suspect allegedly retrieved a weapon from an unknown location, then returned to the lounge, opened the outer door and fired a gunshot. A 30-year-old man was fatally struck.
Police released photos of the suspect and asked for help identifying him on August 6.
