HARPER WOODS (WWJ) - A 23-year-old Detroit man could spend the rest of his life behind bars after allegedly shooting at a man he was arguing with in Harper Woods.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 in the 19400 block of Kenosha, in a neighborhood off Moross Road and Beaconsfield Street.
According to police, Tyren Wesley Williams was involved in an argument with another man, during which he pulled out a 9mm handgun and shot at the unarmed victim, who was not injured. After the shooting, Williams fled the scene.
The next day, police executed a search warrant at a home in Detroit and Williams was taken into custody without further incident. Police also recovered the semi-automatic handgun allegedly used in the crime.
On Wednesday, Williams was arraigned and formally charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearm. Bond was set at $75,000.00 cash.
If convicted as charged, Williams faces up to life in prison. He's due back in court for a preliminary examination on April 1.
