CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A man currently incarcerated in Ohio has been charged in the slaying of a 23-year-old woman whose body was found along a mid-Michigan roadway.
The Lansing State Journal reports 26-year-old Julian Revilla is awaiting extradition after being charged with murder and felony weapons violations in the fatal shooting of Suzann Fedewa of Lansing. Authorities announced the charges Tuesday and say they're seeking to bring Revilla to Michigan.
Fedewa's body was found Jan. 3 of this year along Old Lansing Road in Eaton County's Delta Township, west of Lansing.
Investigators have said Revilla and Fedewa knew each other, but they haven't released details of what happened.
According to an online obituary, Fedewa, who went by "Suzy", graduated from Lansing's Sexton High School in 2014, worked as purchaser for Chuck E. Cheese, and a bartender at Reno's West.
She loved to sing, dance and entertain others.
"She was a good person. She was free-spirited. My daughter called her a butterfly," her stepfather, Jerry Davids, told WLNS-TV. "She would give the shirt off her back for anybody. And for somebody to do this, you know, that's the hard part."
Revilla has been behind bars since May at the London Correctional Institution, charged with failing to comply, having a firearm in a vehicle and receiving stolen property.
Court records didn't indicate whether he has a lawyer.
