Man Charged With Breaking Into Canton Target

(WWJ) A man from Holt, in Ingham County, is accused of burglarizing a Target store in Canton Township. 

According to the Canton Public Safety Department, 25-year-old Mark Anthony Pierce, II, broke into the Crossroads Village Target, on Michigan Ave., in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 30.


Pierce was arraigned 35th District Court on felony charges of breaking and entering and larceny in a building. Judge Michael Gerou issued a unspecified personal bond, on the condition that Pierce wear a GPS tether if he's released.

Police did not say what was allegedly stolen from the store, how Pierce was identified as a suspect, or what evidence led to his arrest. No further details about the case were immediately released. 

Pierce's next court appearance is scheduled for next Friday, May 15.
