DETROIT (WWJ) - A suspect is in custody after a man was found stabbed, lying in the middle of the street on Detroit's west side.
A 911 call came in just before 9 a.m. Tuesday from a citizen who reported an injured person lying in the roadway at Greenfield and Joy Road.
Police said it was initially thought there could have been a hit-and-run, but emergency responders found that the victim had been stabbed.
The 66-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time, but police said this was not a fatal stabbing.
Investigators determined the attack had happened near where the victim was found, police said; and the alleged attacker was quickly identified and arrested.
Other circumstances behind the incident are unknown at this time.
No names have been released as the investigation continues.
