DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that occurred on the city's west side.
The incident unfolded around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18 in the 20800 block of Plymouth, west of Evergreen Road.
The 31-year-old victim told police he met up with the suspect to sell him a cellphone he posted online. While the victim was showing him the phone, the suspect allegedly grabbed it out of his hands and ran northbound on Burt Road.
The victim attempted to chase the suspect to retrieve the phone, but the suspect produced a handgun, pointed it at the victim and continued to flee on foot.
The suspect is described as black male with a dark complexion, 5'10" tall and 150 lbs. with a goatee and mustache. He was wearing red hooded jacket with a camouflage print on the sleeves, blue jeans and black boots.
Investigators have released surveillance images of the suspect in hopes he can be identified.
