DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say two men were driving on Detroit's east side when someone started shooting at their vehicle.
The incident unfolded around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 12700 block of Kelly Road, north of Whittier Avenue.
According to police, a 23-year-old man was driving a Ford Fusion when he was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim lost control of his vehicle and ran into a vacant dwelling. He was transported to the hospital by medics and last reported in critical condition.
A 27-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle also sustained an injury, though it's unclear at this if his injury was due to a gunshot wound or glass. He was privately conveyed to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect is unknown at this time. No description was provided.
Other circumstances are still being investigated.
