DETROIT (WWJ) -- A suspect is in custody after a drug bust in Detroit on Tuesday.

Michigan State Police say the Metro Narcotics Enforcement team executed multiple search warrants in the city Tuesday, targeting a sophisticated group distributing heroin and fentanyl.

The group has been selling the drugs to people in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.

During the raid, MNET seized 78 grams of heroin and fentanyl in clear capsules, as well as two pistols and more than $16,000 in cash.

State police also say the main suspect in the drug distribution group was taken into custody, with charges pending. No information about the suspect was released, and police did not disclose the location of the drug bust.

MNET is a multijurisdictional task force composed of local, state, and federal agencies.

Michigan State Police are still investigating the case.
