(WWJ) A woman is hospitalized, and two suspects are custody after a disturbing case of kidnapping and assault spanning two Southeast Michigan counties.
According to Green Oak Township Police, the woman was voluntarily picked up in Pontiac by two men who offered her a ride home.
Instead, the men held her in the car for three or fours hours, according to police.
It's alleged that the men "brutally assaulted" to victim using pliers and a wrench during the drive from Pontiac to Livingston's County's Green Oak Township, where they forced her to get out of the car at Marshall and 9 Mile roads.
The men ordered the woman to walk south, police said, threatening that if she went in another direction, she would be killed,
Once the car was out of sight, the woman ran to the nearest home for help.
Based on details provided by the victim, police said the driver was found the next morning in the same vehicle.
On Friday, he was being held in the Livingston County Jail following his arraignment on several felonies. A second suspect was arrested Thursday by Warren Police, and transferred to Livingston County to await his arraignment
The woman is being treated for several broken bones and lacerations, police said,
Police did not say when, exactly. this happened. There was no mention of a robbery, and police did not say what the motive might have been,
The case is being investigated in both Oakland and Livingston counties.
