(WWJ) A motorcyclist was killed last night in a crash with a car in Shelby Township.

According to Shelby Township police, the 37-year-old Roseville man was driving northbound Schoenherr Road on a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle, just before 11 p.m. Monday.

Just north of 21 Mile Rd, police said the bike collided with a 2015 Cadillac SRX that was headed southbound on Schoenherr, making a left turn onto Greenville Rd.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene, police said. The driver of the Cadillac was not injured.

Schoenherr was closed for several hours as the Shelby Township Traffic Bureau conducted an investigation, but has since reopened.

As the investigation continues, police are working to determine which driver was to blame, and if speeding, alcohol or drugs played a part.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Shelby Township police Sgt. Mark Benedettini at 586-731-2121 ext. 483.
