DETROIT (WWJ) -- A pair of investigations are underway after two unrelated shootings on Detroit freeways Monday night.

Michigan State Police say they received reports of a traffic crash with reported gunfire on eastbound M-8, the Davison Freeway, between I-75 and John R some time after 7 p.m. and detectives headed out to the scene to investigate.

When troopers arrived, they found a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica on the side of the freeway with bullet holes in the driver's side of the vehicle.

A 33-year-old man from Warren was taken to Henry Ford Hospital by a civilian and was last listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police say a possible suspect vehicle is a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, though specifics surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

Authorities say they also received an unrelated call around 6:50 p.m. Monday night of a shooting on another Detroit freeway.

The victims, riding in a 2009 Pontiac G6, were merging onto northbound M-10, the John C. Lodge Freeway, when they pulled between a black Mercedes and a black Range Rover, both with tinted windows.

Police say that's when the Mercedes moved to the center lane and slowed down, allowing the victim's vehicle to pull up next to them. Then a black male fired from the passenger side of the Mercedes, striking the victim's car.

The Mercedes and Range Rover both accelerated and fled the scene.

No one was injured during that incident, according to police.

Both incidents are still under investigation.
