car break-in

(WWJ) Michigan State Police are urging residents in northern Oakland County to remove valuables from their cars, parked outside, after a car break-in in Groveland Township.

State Police say troopers were called to a scene near Valley Stream Drive west of Holly early Saturday morning, where at least one person was breaking into a car.

When troopers arrived; the suspect was gone. State Police requested a canine and a track. Police were able to locate a face mask and a shoe, but the suspect(s) remain on the run.

Further investigation showed the suspect(s) were looking around the neighborhood for unlocked vehicles.

“While this is a low crime area,” State Police tweeted. “You never know when someone is up to some shenanigans in your neighborhood.”

It is unclear if anything was stolen. The investigation continues.
